Saved by God – Understanding Salvation, Grace, and the Christian Life | Class 1

Following Jesus

Class 01

Saved by God — What does it really mean?

In this first session of the Christian foundations class, we walk through the core truth that shapes the entire Christian life: a Christian is someone who has been saved by God.

Drawing from Ephesians 2, Titus 3, Romans 8, and other key Scriptures, this teaching explores:

✔️ Our condition apart from Christ — dead in sin and enslaved to our desires

✔️ God’s initiative in salvation — “But God…”

✔️ Why God saves — His glory, His mercy, His purpose

✔️ How salvation is completed — God begins and finishes the work

✔️ Practical implications — humility, assurance, worship, obedience

Whether you’re a new believer, discipling others, or refreshing your understanding of grace, this class helps you return to the foundational truths of the gospel and rediscover the joy of being saved by God alone.

Closing and Application Key Scriptures:

  • – Ephesians 2:1–10
  • – Titus 3:3–7
  • – Romans 8:29–30
  • – Philippians 1:6
  • – Deuteronomy 7:7–8
  • – 1 Peter 2:9
  • – 2 Timothy 1:9
